review: YSL make up workshop part 1

Thanks to Miu from plusizekitten, I managed to register as early bird to attend he YSL make up workshop tru emmagem(http://www.emmagem.com) last Friday.

My session was at 3pm and I had paid to emmagem before. Since it's a make up workshop, I did not wear heavy but very light make up to the event.clever, huh? haha

I was so lucky because I met with the people from emmagem .One of them is the editor, and the other, sorry, I did not ask what's the position she posed. :P

Back to the workshop!

The YSL international make up artist was getting ready while the models was cleaning her face

First when we reached, we were seated and were requested to clean our face with their new products: 3 in 1make up removal which is water based. It removed my very light make up well, but needed more times and cotton wool for heavier make up.

Then, we apply eye cream, sunblock and moisturiser before the make up demonstration started.I guessed they were waiting for majorities to reach and that caused the workshop delayed for about 30 min.

products on the middle of each table
Everything started from foundation/make up base, of course. The YSL International Make-up Artist., Mr. Patrick Havegheer, used the Top Secrets(make up base) on the model's face. His touch was really light as he loved natural look and thus, that would be our topic today! I am not giving much explanation on the products used and why was it used as you can easily find it online. sorry~

Rebecca was giving an introduction and Mr. Patrick was waiting to be introduced
After Top Secrets, he applied the Perfect Touch(foundaion) with very little potion. Mr. Patrick mentioned as the weather in Mlaysia is hot, it is the best not to apply heavy make up. The make up will not be cakey when it rains or when we sweat. I always applied heavy make up as the model in magazines I read. His words really gave impact to me and I wanted to make myself natural starting from now!!

Coming after foundation, was the concealer and followed with YSL star product -- Radiant Touch~~ Mr. Patick applied the concealer/highlight whatever you wanna call it, under the model's eyes, nose(T-zone), above upper lip, and smile lines! He said that a bright and light base is more important than the colours. Thus, he was more concerned on the light and bright foundation rather than the heavy colours on eyes, cheeks and lips. Then, set your foundation with loose powder or compact powder on your choice.

That's all with foundation demo,We needed to try it ourselves now!!

The make up artists were around to help you. They served fastly and friendly!

Eyes and lips reviews are comind soon.

review : ettusais zero pore coat

The ettusais zero pore coat is a concealer. According to the booklet, it is a pore concealer with a long-lasting matte finish. The theory how it conceal shown in the booklet and you may get one from their counters as I do not have high resolution camera. I am afraid if I can't get a nice and clear picture of it.

How it Works:

A transparent makeup base to fill in pores and make them invisible. It provides a long-lasting matte finish that effectively combats visible pores. It is also extremely light-weight and has a quick-dry formula, so you can apply makeup immediately after.

Directions:

After applying your base, blend the pore concealer over areas with visible pores. Then, apply your foundation.

Ingredients:

can't find any ingredients in english....

As seen in the pictures above, it comes with a small plastic container. Its texture is solid alike, non sticky nor creamy nor waterly nor oily. I do not know how to describe it... :P

You can just apply with your fingers or you may use any spatula to get the concealer. It is white in colour. Put the concealer onto the pores areas and blend. You can see the result immediately. Pores look finer and smaller. Some even can't be seen! It also did not cause me break out as it is allergy tested.

A little of the concealer can cover the cheeck and the nose area. I guess this 7g concealer can last for about 6 months. It does save a lot, huh?

The container is small which is travel friendly. Since the product is solid, it will never fall from the container or cause a mess to the container or the pouch. It is suggested to apply before foundation and I had never use it when I touched up. Can I? I am not sure ...

Pros :

  • small, travel friendly
  • cover the pores
  • fragrance free and colour free
  • allergy tested
  • prevents blemishes
  • produce a flawless look on me

Cons :
  • not hygenic to be used
  • not giving the long-lasting matte finish as the product claims
  • only available in Isetan (K.L, Selangor)
The zero pore coat of 7g retails for RM54(WM)/ RM57(EM). Is it costly? For me, I will say NO as I can use up to about 6 months for applying on the pores area only. For full face application, can't really tell. It depends.

Will I repurcchase it?

Well, definitely YES!
However, if my large pores problem is not that serious anymore, I will NOT buy. To save cost. hehehe

review: ettusais pore zero mask-updated

I had been using this mask for about a month now. As I stated in my previous post, I was quite satisfied with the results.Since I have large and obvious pores, I searched and tried a lot of the products to solve my problem and ettusais is the latest brand I tried.

Zero Pore Mask
This is a sleeping or may be you can call it a leave on mask. I was told by the SA to apply it on moisturised face at night and just leave it to be absorbed.

The product claims:

Wake up to even skin and smaller pores daily!

How it Works:

A leave-on water based gel type mask that works while you sleep to give you maximum moisture. Plumps up your skin, shrinks pores and makes them less visible.

Application:

After night skin care, disperse 2 drops onto hand and smooth over pore concentration area such as nose and cheek.
For using over whole face, disperse 3drops onto hand
No need to wipe off or wash off after application

The ingredients:

Water, PEG/PPG-147 Dimethyl Ether, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, Alycerin, Carbomer, Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Hydroxide, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil,Yocopheryl Acetate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Methaphosphate, Hydroproline, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil

The texture is light and liquidous. It comes with pump which makes the product to be obtained easily.

I think it did its job nicely as I found myself having more flawless face after one week of the application. My pores did become smaller and finer. Some more, I found the blackheads on my nose and cheeks are less, I don't know if it's because of this products? or simply because I used the peel off mask from another brand?

However, as I got this product at a very good bargain, I must say it's really worth it!

Pros :

  • non greasy/oily/creamy,
  • water type,
  • no breakouts caused,
  • no colour dye,
  • no scent,
  • absorb quickly,
  • minimised the pores,
  • simple and easy to be used

Cons :

  • only available at Isetan (for K.L, Selangor),
  • can be expensive to some of us(*)

* Since I got this mask together with the zero pore coat and the night defense for RM159,which was a BEST BUY PRICE during the Isetan sale. I forgot to ask about the single price each so I am not sure about the price in Malaysia. I tried to searched online but there was no official website of Malaysia ettusais, but Singapore. It is retailed for S$44 in Singapore according to the website.I just realized that ettusais is another brand of Shiseido.

After all, if you are really having large pores problem, you may want to give this product a try. Who knows if it works for you too?

Update: This zero pore mask retails at RM72(WM)/ RM76(EM) for a 42g product.
